Hi Chippewa followers,
It’s hard to believe July is in our rear-view mirror- I mean the one on our bikes. It seems like yesterday we were celebrating a sold-out Opening Weekend in May and we were looking forward to our guests returning for exciting times in June with the Lilac Festival, July 4th weekend, July’s Chicago Yacht Club’s Race to Mackinac, Bell’s Beer Bayview to Mackinac Race and the Super Mackinac Race. We had great times with all of you but as the saying goes, “where did the summer go?”
To me and the thousands of Mackinac lovers, Mackinac Island is a magical place where you can go back in time and remember that dreams do come true. We all know that all good times must end, and that’s when our guests have to leave and say good-bye after a glorious stay, and parting is such sweet sorrow- for them and for us. We can all identify that it’s like leaving a very good friend.
How do you say good-bye to the sunset that blazed everyday, or the magnificent crystal blue waters and sparkling beaches, the many miles of trails traversed, biking and walking, the joy of seeing good friends that have made over the years as well as the new ones? How do you say good-bye to a magical place that has become a part of your soul, where life just seems to make perfect sense, where you find balance, knowing you belong. So we say good-bye for now and look forward to your glorious reunion when we meet again……….Good-bye old friend.
Do you really have to say good-bye to Mackinac Island with so much summer yet untapped? The weather has been amazingly perfect with sunny, blue skies and record heat in the mid to high 80’s and now is the time for you to see that good, reliable friend again and visit us on the Island. Here’s some great reasons to come back as if you needed an excuse. It kicks off on Friday, August 21st and Saturday the 22nd, from 3-5 pm with Mackinac Island Beer Tasting at our Pink Pony. Plus, Michigan’s own Arbor Brewing Company created the Mackinac Island Fudge Stout especially for the festival. Enjoy this amazing brew with Pink Pony’s 24 draft beers on tap. The weekend will be filled with lots of fudge tasting at Mackinac’s Fudge shops, and a special “Daddy, I Want the Golden Ticket Give-Away! When you buy fudge, there’s a golden ticket hidden in one special box of fudge and it might for your chance to win a 2016 Mackinac Island Vacation! Plus, celebrate the Island’s unique fudge making process with a fudge-making demonstration and free samples! Everyone wins!
Another great reason to return or visit Mackinac for your first time is Labor Day falls one week later and that means an EXTRA WEEK of SUMMER!
